Students Please Note:
Your Electronic Engineering Student Network drive or Z: Drive is not backed up or secure. You are responsible for your own backups.
This is in reference to the network drive available from within the Electronic Engineering building only.
Please also note: EE Student Network Drives may be wiped from one semester to the next, so all data should be backed up before the end of every Semester.
( As apart from the Maynooth University X Drives, which are available when you log into any of PCs in the Public Access Computer Rooms on campus (PACRs) )
As you do NOT have roaming profiles, we still encourage you to use the Z: Drive or EE Student Network Drives, ahead of the local Desktop or My Documents etc.
There is a space on the local Hard Drive, called c:\student_temp (or similar), which you have read/write permissions to. This is provided for temporary use if needs be.
Use of OneDrive is encouraged and each student has 1TB of storage available to them via the Office 365 portal. This can be accessed through the Web Browsers in the EE Department Lab PCs.
Please see IT Services "Office 365 for Students" webpage for Information on OneDrive and Office365, here: https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/it-services/office-365-students
Please see IT Services "File Storage" webpage for broader information on storage options: https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/it-services/file-storage-documents
By using our Labs and logging into the PCs you agree to abide by the "University's Code of Conduct for users of Computing Facilities" and "Responsible Computing Policy".
Please see this page, for up to date versions of these policies:
