Maynooth University GAA Club

The Maynooth University GAA Club is a student run club, run by students for students under the watchful eye of Jenny Duffy, GAA Development Officer. Currently there is a playing population of 400 members.

There are currently twelve teams within our five GAA Clubs representing the club and Maynooth University in :

  • Men’s Football
  • Hurling
  • Ladies Football
  • Camogie 
  • Handball 

The University GAA season runs continuously from September to March during each academic year. The GAA Club caters for all levels and abilities. Within the Men’s football team there are 4 teams, Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Fresher. The Hurling team, Ladies football and Camogie team caters for Senior and Fresher teams within each code. Maynooth University's team colours are teal. 

Each team competes in a League in Semester 1 and Championship in Semester 2 while training consistently throughout. The Senior Men’s football team compete in the Sigerson Cup, Hurling in the Fitzgibbon Cup, Ladies football in the Giles Cup and Camogie team in the Purcell Cup All Ireland competitions. 

Each club has an executive membership of players who take on the responsibility of committee positions, varying from the role of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO each year.

There are currently GAA Scholarships available to players within the five GAA Clubs, Men’s Football, Hurling, Ladies Football, Camogie and Handball. We offer an exciting and progressive developmental scholarship scheme to both prospective and current students.
