Dr Marian Crowley-Henry (School of Business) and Dr Katriona O’Sullivan (Department of Psychology and ALL Institute)’s proposal under the Higher Education Authority (HEA)’s Gender Equality Enhancement Fund 2023 has received funding success. ‘Promote: Developing, Promoting and Implementing a Career Progression Training Platform & Network for Early Career Female Researchers-Academics (ECFRAs) across Irish HEIs’ will receive €50,000 to develop a nation-wide training and learning network, online resources, and regional training and networking events across the HEI partners (University of Limerick, South-East Technological University, Munster Technological University, as well as supported by Dublin City University, University College Cork and the University of Galway).
The proposed ‘PROMOTE’ virtual learning platform is the first of its kind that will house resources to support ECFRAs’ career progression and will also focus on developing an ECFRA network, building their social capital across disciplines and HEIs. There will be a section on the platform which relates specifically to motherhood, working-class, and older women. Keep an eye out for more updates as the project gets underway in January 2024.
