0n 8 Dec. 2017 UL hosted the Higher Education Lifelong Learning in Ireland Network (HELLIN) conference entitled ‘Enabling Learning’. DACE was present in the persons of Josephine Finn and Dr. Derek Barter. Josephine spoke on the importance of Networking for Lifelong Learning in the European and wider international context. The subject is particularly relevant in relation to changing demographics, social cohesion and work practices. Derek gave a presentation on enabling lifelong learning in local contexts and partnership arrangements as can be seen in the work of the Communiversity. This initiative is now entering its seventh year and continues to grow.
