Fourth Meeting of the Citizens' Assembly on the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution
The members of the Citizens Assembly were keen to hear directly from women and their experiences of pregnancy and the Eight Amendment. The secretariat of the Citizens Assembly invited Mary Ryan, Head of The Department, to interview six women who reflected on their experiences and told their story. She worked closely with Sinéad Ingoldsby, Documentary Producer and Editor, to create six interviews, which were presented to the Citizens Assembly on March 4th 2017.

For the last ten years, Mary has directed the Crisis Pregnancy Counselling programme in the Department.
