We are pleased to announce the first of our Research Seminars Double-Session on Thursday, 1 May 2025.   Our first guest speaker is Dr Anthony Farrell, Maynooth University at 5pm.
 

Dr Anthony Farrell completed his BA Single Hons (2014) and his PhD (2019) at Maynooth University.

Since 2016 he has been tutoring in the History Department and in 2022-24 he has lectured on MU Summer School programmes. He was Research Assistant on Maynooth University’s Clericus Project (2020) and on a project exploring the effect of the Great Famine on the town of Swatra, Co. Derry/Londonderry (2021). Dr Farrell has presented on Irish veterans of the Great War at Maynooth University, The National Archives, Kew, the Centre for the Study of Modern Conflict at the University of Edinburgh, and Tampere University, Finland.

His publications include ‘‘A Forgotten Generation’: Medical Care for Disabled Veterans of the First World War in Independent Ireland’, Irish Studies Review (2021).
