After the President's mention of Maynooth Universities increasing "Field Weighted Citation Impact" at the "University Update" I'm sure many of you are interested in knowing how to calculate Maynooth's "Field-Weighted Citation Impact" or looking at the many other metrics available to measure research performance at an individual or group level. If so  contact Ciarán Quinn the Research Support Librarian or check out the SciVal Database which is available from the Libraries A-Z of databases . To login just register with the Scopus Database and then use the same login for SciVal.

So what is the "Field-Weighted Citation Impact"? Its the ratio of citations received relative to the expected world average for the subject field, publication type and publication year.
