Seminar: Prof. Shane Kilcommins (UL) 1 March @ 12

The next seminar of our Law Department Seminar Series will take place on Wednesday March 1. The seminar is scheduled to start at 12 pm and will be held in the Eolas Boardroom.
 
Our guest speaker will be Prof. Shane Kilcommins (UL), who will discuss with us on “The Victim and the Justice System: from key personal stakeholder to institutional outcast to returnee?”.
 
Professor Shane Kilcommins is a graduate of UL (BA in Law and European Studies, 1994) the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (Ph.D 1999), and UCC (MA in Teaching and Learning, 2007). He joined the Law School, University of Limerick in 2014 after lecturing in UCC for 13 years.  He lectures in evidence law, criminal law, jurisprudence, penology and criminology. He was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at Temple Law School in 2008/2009. He has co-authored various funded research reports on discrimination,  victims of crime and integrative learning. He is an examiner for the Law Society of Ireland in criminal law and criminal law and criminal procedure, and has acted as an extern examiner for Trinity College, UCD, DCU, DIT and the IPA.
