Primary Education: The Digital Journey

Friday, May 11, 2018 - 09:00
From the outset, the mission underpinning this project has been to work towards ensuring that young people are afforded an education, which fosters the digital skills and learning necessary to succeed in today's world. The Erasmus+ programme has supported the realisation of this goal by enabling colleagues within higher education institutions and schools to broaden their perspectives and share their knowledge and experience with like-minded individuals across a host of countries. Furthermore, it has facilitated partners within our respective organisations to work with peers to innovate and modernise teaching practices across the four countries involved. This project has resulted in deep sharing of practices, which will continue to enrich digital learning experiences in participating schools and universities into the future.

Thus, projects of this nature have a genuine potential to influence and change practice in educational settings. Today’s conference is the culmination of nine exceptional events, which have been organised across the four countries. We are delighted to host the final event here in Ireland, which facilitates participating partners to meet once again to review and celebrate the successes and outcomes of the project. It also incorporates a multiplier event that provides an opportunity to share the learning with invited partners from primary schools and third-level institutions throughout Ireland.
