Maynooth University is one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education - for the fifth time running - according to The Princeton Review Best 381 Colleges Guide 2017. The ‘Best Colleges’ review, which features the top 15% of all US colleges, is internationally recognised as the key resource used by US students in finding an educational institution which suits their requirements both academically and socially.

The selection process for the publication is based on an assessment of the academic programmes offered by the universities, combined with research conducted by the Princeton Review with students attending the college, covering areas such as ‘Academics’, ‘Student Life’ and the ‘Student Body’. The Princeton Review conducted surveys among Maynooth University students as part of the assessment process.

"Maynooth University's outstanding academics are the chief reason we chose it for this book and we strongly recommend it to applicants," says Robert Franek, Princeton Review's Senior VP- Publisher and author of ‘The Best 381 Colleges.’

Discussing the selection, Claire Doran, Director of Internationalisation at Maynooth said: “Our selection is a great endorsement for the University and is testament to our focus on an excellent academic record combined with a dynamic, student-friendly environment. Our approach is in line with the American educational philosophy that considers the many factors, both academic and social, that determine the best “fit” between student and university. Finding a university which suits the whole person is critically important in order for a student to excel, and the Princeton Review helps students to find the educational institution where they can best develop both academically and socially.”

Maynooth University is Ireland’s fastest growing university with more than 11,000 students, including almost 1,600 taught postgraduate and professional students and over 400 research students. A recent survey by Study Portals ranked Maynooth University number 1 in Europe for the level of satisfaction amongst international students with their experience.
