Saturday, February 24, 2018 - 09:00 to 17:30
School of Education, North Campus, Maynooth University

IVACS (Inter-Varietal Applied Corpus Studies) is an international research network that brings together researchers and postgraduate students working in corpus linguistics, through an annual one-day symposium and a biennial conference.

This year's one-day symposium will be hosted by Lárionad na Gaeilge: Taighde, Teagasc agus Tástáil / The Centre for Irish Language Research, Teaching and Testing, Maynooth University, and will focus on the theme of Corpus Research in Challenging Contexts.

The aim of the symposium will be to discuss and share experiences and ideas regarding the many challenges associated with corpus research, including those involved in corpus compilation, annotation and analysis, as well as additional challenges that arise when working with lesser-used languages, learner language or other non-standard data.
