The MSc Climate Change at Maynooth University is Ireland’s longest running and most successful postgraduate course on the subject. Students learn about; climate processes, the science behind climate change past and future and associated impacts. You will gain a critical appreciation of climate policy on mitigation and adaptation and how science can be most effectively used to inform policy. The course is taught by leading academics in the field both nationally and internationally with cutting edge research integrated into the taught component.​

Past graduates are working with ECO-UNESCO, as water managers, as environmental consultants, with local authorities and government departments, insurance companies doing risk assessment and data analytics and in research and education both nationally and internationally.

Our Staff: The course is taught by leading international experts who are committed to research led teaching and who have been recipients of awards in teaching and research. Staff members have been lead authors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Reports and sit on national and international committees developing policy in responding to climate change.

Student Centred: Our students have access to their own dedicated lab and all software needed. We know that nowadays students often need to work or have family commitments and we schedule timetabling and course delivery to facilitate the many demands on students. There are also many opportunities for work within the department as tutor and demonstrator.
