Dr Moynagh Sullivan of Maynooth University Department of English, will give the Keynote address at a one day symposium on Women and War: Ireland in the Twentieth Century at Newcastle University, UK on Thursday 19th March 2015. This is an interdisciplinary event involving historians, creative writers, sociologist and literary critics and is funded and supported by the Gender Research Group. Dr Sullivan’s paper is called: “Medbh McGuckian’s Poetry: Engendering the Maternal Body through War”.
