The paper studies a transmission scenario where a transmitter equipped with multiple antennas (e.g. a base station in cellular networks) transmits information to a group of receivers. The main assumption is that the receivers
are able to decode its information and harvest energy simultaneously from received signals. The considered system model is commonly known as simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) which attracts growing attention from both academia and industry. The design problem of interest is to maximize the throughput and the total harvested power with a lowest required transmitted power. In the paper we propose a novel solution to this problem and report noticeable results under realistic settings.
