Maynooth University Economics Graduate Appointed Chair of Health Economics at University of Queensland

The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting would like to congratulate Maynooth University PhD graduate Dr. Brenda Gannon on her recent appointment as Chair of Health Economics at the University of Queensland, Australia. Brenda received her PhD from Maynooth University for her thesis titled ​“An Econometric Analysis of Disability and Labour Force Participation in Ireland.” Brenda conducted her PhD research under the supervision of the Labour Economics Group at Maynooth, Professor Donal O'Neill, Dr. Aedin Doris and Dr. Olive Sweetman.  Her main area of research is the health economics of ageing, with a particular focus on econometrics methodology and related analysis of longitudinal datasets. Prior to her appoinment at the University of Queenlsand Brenda held positions at the University of Leeds and the University of Manchester. The Department would like to wish Brenda success in her new role.
