
Lena Golubovska a recent Finance PhD graduate from the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting featured in a recent Irish Times article examining the value of a PhD.
In the article Lena describes the experience of doing her PhD in Maynooth as "one of the greatest things to happen in her life."
She praises the support of her supervisor Prof. Gregory Conor noting that while doing a PhD can sometimes be challenging she "had great support from her supervisor."
She highlights the enjoyment of “creating and developing her own ideas, self-learning, attending conferences and teaching.
Lena is currently developing a career as a senior risk analyst with Bank of Ireland, acknowledging that "Employers love independent learners and this comes with a doctorate.”
