MSc in Economics & Finance

The MSc (Formerly MA) programmes in Economics MHH52 and Finance MHH50 at Maynooth University are structured to provide international quality training in Economics, Econometrics, and Finance and to provide a firm foundation for students continuing into MLitt or PhD research. 

MSc Economic and Financial Risk Analysis

With an excellent employability record and a 3 month work placement, the 1 year full-time MSc Economic and Financial Risk Analysis MHH64 provides essential training to our Masters students, going on to careers at the Economic and Social Research Institute, the Central Bank of Ireland, Accenture, AIB, Ulster Bank, HedgeServ and more.

For applicants with less experience, there are 2 year full-time conversion MSc options available in Economics MHH70, Finance MHH74 and Financial Risk Analysis MHH68.

Masters in Accounting

The 1 year full-time Masters Programme in Accounting MHH62 provides students with the key competencies required by a professional accountant in an ever-changing business and ethical environment.  Students will be encouraged to develop critical and analytical skills and apply their knowledge to unstructured situations. Successful Masters in Accounting graduates are entitled to full exemption from CAP 11 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland. There is also a 2 year full-time conversion Masters into Accounting MHH72 for applicants with less experience.

Higher Diploma options

The Higher Diploma in Finance  MHH58 is designed to equip students, whose Primary Degrees have an Economics component and who have some background in Accounting, with a thorough grounding in Finance.

The Higher Diploma in Economic Science  MHH60 is designed to enhance the skills in Economics of students whose Primary Degrees have an Economics component.

The Higher Diploma in Professional Accounting  MHH66 is a conversion programme for graduates with a non relevant accounting background. It aims to equip students with the key competencies equivalent to an undergraduate programme in accounting and full exemptions from CAP 1 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
