Katriona’s presentation entitled ‘We are not all the same”: considering the interaction between class and gender in participation in the digital world’ took place Thursday, 15th April 2021.
Mutual Learning Workshop on Gender and Digitalization
The Exploratory Mutual Learning Workshop (MLW) was organized within the framework of the Horizon 2020 GENDERACTION project and coordinated by the Standing Working Group on Gender in Research and Innovation under European Research Area and Innovation Committee (ERAC SWG GRI).
Objectives of the Workshop:
Establish contacts and network on gender and digitalization.
Discuss the latest developments with invited experts in the field.
Share experiences on examples of good practice (e.g., policies, strategies, targeted funding programmes) from member states
Identify barriers that hinder the greater involvement of women researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
Develop recommendations for actions on gender and digitalization in Horizon Europe and for Member States
The workshop was held virtually.

ALL member Dr Katriona O’Sullivan leads The STEM-Passport for Inclusion project funded under SFI Ireland Discover Programme. The STEM-Passport for Inclusion project (STEMP.inc), led by Dr Katriona O’Sullivan, Department of Psychology and the ALL (Assisting Living & Learning) Institute, aims to transform how disadvantaged women gain access to STEM courses. Young women from socially-economically disadvantaged (SED) backgrounds are not accessing STEM careers, due to a myriad of factors that include a lack role models, reduced STEM capital, and limited availability of STEM subjects.

ALL Institute welcomes Kimberly Wright, LLM Student as Semester 2 Intern student
The ALL Institute is delighted to be hosting LLM student Kimberly Wright for the Semester as part of her postgraduate studies in Global Legal Studies. During the placement, Kimberly will be taking part in a variety of tasks ranging from research on the European Ombudsman’s decision on disability rights, conducting literature reviews and undertaking various administration and communication duties.
