Maynooth University Access Programme Achievement Awards 2016
Professor Philip Nolan, President of Maynooth University and Rose Ryan, Director of the Maynooth University Access Programme (MAP), presented awards for exceptional achievement to over 150 second level students and 30 teachers in an award ceremony held at Maynooth University on Wednesday, 18 May.

Flag Designed by MAP Students Launched
The Maynooth University Access Programme unveiled the new flag outside MAP Lodge on Tuesday, 8 December. A new flag is hung each year as a symbol to students supported by the Maynooth University Access Programme of the connections they make to the University and each other over the course of Launchpad and to serve as a reminder to students of MAP’s commitment to help students achieve their full potential and prepare for life. This is the third flag which has been created by first year students who entered through the HEAR and/or DARE entry routes and attended the Maynooth University Access Programme Launchpad Orientation.

Maynooth University Access Programme recognises exceptional achievement of second level students and teachers
Maynooth University presented awards for exceptional achievement to over 120 second level students and 31 teachers from Kildare, Offaly, West Dublin and Kilkenny. The awards are granted by the Maynooth Access Programme (MAP), which works with second level schools to encourage under-represented groups to enter third level.

Intern scheme for non-EU migrants and naturalised Irish citizens
The innovative Opening Power to Diversity (OPD) intern scheme for non-EU migrants and naturalised Irish citizens is now accepting applications for the sixth term to begin in September 2015. Endorsed by the Taoiseach the Opening Power to Diversity scheme will match volunteer migrants with TDs or Senators. Over a six month period participants will get a unique and valuable experience and insight into how politics works in Ireland by observing and assisting the TD/Senator in his/her daily work.
