After the success of the special issue of the International Review of Law, Computers & Technology, published in 2015, Routledge has decided to publish “Fostering Accessible Technology through Regulation” as a book.

This book gathers together different contributions that focus on enhancing the production, marketing and use of accessible technology. Building upon previous academic studies and in light of the UNCRPD, accessible technology is considered a tool to increase autonomy and participation. Overall, this book attempts to show, through a multifaceted and inter-disciplinary analysis, that different regulatory approaches might enhance accessible technology and its availability. The book also features an introduction co-authored by editors together with Mr. Charles O’Sullivan, IRC funded PhD Candidate at Maynooth University Department of Law.

This publication represents an acknowledgement of the ground-breaking research purported in the Special Issue.
