Congratulations to Maynooth Team for second place in ITI Fantasy Budget Competition Win
Special congratulations are due to the Maynooth Law team consisting of Deirdre Casey, Carol Eljie, Surayya Penny and Lynn Burtenshaw which have been awarded second place in the Irish Taxation Institute’s prestigious annual Fantasy Budget Competition.

2017 Junior Certificate Business Studies Awards
The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting were delighted to host another successful Junior Certificate Business Studies Awards ceremony in the historic setting of the Aula Maxima on 30th January 2018. Prof Philip Nolan on behalf of Maynooth University recognised the contribution to teaching and promotion of excellence in Junior Certificate Business Studies of 97 individual schools, while also acknowledging the extraordinary achievement of over 550 of their students who achieved excellence in their 2017 higher-level exam. The event is run in association with the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland and in conjunction with the Department of Law and the School of Business.

‘The beginning of the story’: Department of English PhD graduate Bridget English’s new book features in The Irish Times
Bridget English, a recent PhD graduate from the Department of English, has just published a book based on her doctoral research in the Department. In The Irish Times Culture section Bridget has written about her research and the insights which attitudes towards death and dying give us on culture, communal beliefs, and the limits of human life.

European Studies Essay Prize 2018
The Centre for European and Eurasian Studies is proud to announce its third annual undergraduate essay award. The award is open to all undergraduate students across a wide range of departments at the university.
