The Library has a team of Subject Librarians. Their role is to provide a link between the Academic Community (lecturers, researchers, students etc) and the Library to help in meeting their information needs.
Each member of the team is responsible for particular subject areas.

Specific roles include:

  • Development of Information Skills programmes

The services of a Research Support Librarian are also available from the Library.
Services include: Individual or group research consultations either in your own location or the Library, keeping you up to date with available resources, bibliometrics support (researcher/institutional citation impact), showcasing your research, improving your research visibility, advice on the research process and literature reviews, managing your references using reference management software.   • Collections: Includes the John Paul II and Russell Libraries collections, and also the Digital, Electronic, and Special collections. There are also a number of Open Access resources.
  • Using the Library: Details on your book borrowing rights, inter- library loans, off campus access, printing & photocopying, access to PC's and much more.
  • LIST (Library Information Skills Tutorials)
  • Writing Centre: Offers writing help to any student, undergraduate or postgraduate
  • Open Access Resources: Includes links to National and International Institutional Repositories and Open Access eJournals.
