Bibliometric Tools

InCites is a customized, citation-based research evaluation tool on the Web that enables you to analyze institutional productivity and benchmark your output against peers worldwide. The dataset is from Thomson Reuters.  Contact the Research Support Librarian Ciarán Quinn for access and training. Incites online training here.
SciVal® Strata is a visualization tool that helps users track team and individual research performance across a flexible spectrum of benchmarks and measures. Data is from the Scopus (Elsevier) dataset. It is the largest citation database available to provide customizable views into crucial areas of research performance. You are not restricted to your institution, you can import any researcher that is captured within Scopus. Access requires you to register with the databases or use your (if you've set one up!) Scopus account details.
SCImago Journal & Country Rank is a portal that includes the journals and country scientific indicators developed from the information contained in the Scopus® database (Elsevier B.V.). These indicators can be used to assess and analyze scientific domains.
Scopus from Elsevier compares Journals based on Citation Metrics using the largest abstract and citation database containing both peer-reviewed research literature and quality web sources.
Web of Science from Thomson Reuters  contains the Science, Social Sciences & Arts & Humanities Citation Index and the Journal Citation Reports & Essential Science Indicators.

Publish or Perish is designed to empower individual academics to present their case for research impact to its best advantage. It uses data from Google Scholar. Google Scholar generally provides a higher citation count than ISI, this might not be true for all fields of studies. The Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Engineering in particular seem to benefit from Google Scholar's better coverage of (citations in) books, conference proceedings and a wider range of journals.

Altmetrics

Altmetrics is the creation and study of new metrics based on the Social Web for analyzing, and informing scholarship. Web site includes links to web tools such as Impact Story, Plum Analytics, Altmetrics.com, Reader Meter, Science Card, PloS Impact Explorer, Paper Critic and Crowdometer.
Google Scholar Citations provide a simple way for authors to keep track of citations to their articles. You can check who is citing your publications, graph citations over time, and compute several citation metrics. You can also make your profile public, so that it may appear in Google Scholar results when people search for your name.
Impact Story: ImpactStory is an open-source, web-based tool that helps researchers expore and share the diverse impacts of all their research products—from traditional ones like journal articles, to emerging products like blog posts, datasets, and software.
PLOS (Public Library of Science) Article Level MetricsPLOS contributes to the broader “Altmetrics” movement, working to create and establish metrics for analyzing the reach and impact of published research.
