Maynooth University Department of Law welcomes Dr Rhiannon Bandiera

Dr Rhiannon Bandiera is the new Assistant Professor in Criminology at the Department of Law, Maynooth University. 

Prior to joining the Department, Rhiannon had lectured and tutored in undergraduate and graduate criminology courses at Flinders University, the University of South Australia, and Victoria University of Wellington. Rhiannon specialises in critical criminology, regulation, corporate crime, state-corporate crime, state crime, transnational crime, and zemiology. Her current research critically examines the regulation of pharmaceutical industry in Australia; it critiques the effectiveness of the regulatory framework and techniques employed by Australia’s national drug regulatory authority, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), in generating compliance from pharmaceutical companies with quality, safety, efficacy, advertising, and promotional requirements. She is also conducting research on the false and deceptive marketing of biosimilar medicines and modern slavery reporting in Australia.Rhiannon received her PhD in criminology in late-2018. She also holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) and Bachelor of Behavioural Science Honours (Criminal Justice) with first class. 

Rhiannon will lecture courses in critical criminology and penology, as well as introductory criminology and criminal justice courses.
