Dr Ferri Lectures at the Winter School on Federalism and Governance 2015

Thursday, February 12, 2015 - 00:00

On 5 February 2015, Dr Delia Ferri gave a seminar on participatory instruments in the European Union at the Winter School on Federalism and Governance 2015.

The Winter School on Federalism and Governance is organised by the Institute for Studies on Federalism and Regionalism of the European Academy Bolzano/Bozen (EURAC) and the Faculty of Law and the School of Political Science and Sociology of the University of Innsbruck, under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

It is a two-week, international postgraduate programme on federalism, regionalism, and multilevel governance. The 2015 edition of the Winter School focuses on the link between federalism and democratic participation. In many countries, trust in traditional mechanisms of democracy is on the decline and discussion about how to improve democratic structures through greater citizen participation is increasing. The School explores, from a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective, how federalism can contribute to multilevel, integrated, and pluralistic decision-making.

Delia teaches EU Law and International Law to undergraduate law students at Maynooth University Department of Law.
