Maynooth Green Campus ran a staff 10,000 Step Challenge, Marchathon, in association with National Transport Authority as part of Maynooth University being a smarter travel campus.
The aim of the challenge was to encourage and support staff to walk more, aiming to increase their steps throughout the challenge, ideally reach 10,000 steps or more per day by the end of the challenge. Participants were asked to form a team of between 3-6 people and get walking from the 1-31 March. We had 12 teams with 57 staff members taking part.
The Library Legends, Ciaran Quinn, team captain, Frank Brady, Jacqui Morrissey and Fiona Tuohy were the winners from Maynooth University with over 355,000 steps between them.
