From 20 to 24 January 2020 we held our first international doctoral winter conference on public education. The conference provided an opportunity for doctoral students whose work focuses on questions concerning public education to share their work.

Lidia Manzo has been awarded with the Marie Sklodowska Curie European Individual Fellowship 2019-2021 to develop the project CITY-OF-CARE at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the Milan University in partnership with the MU Department of Geography.

Programme Design and Validation for Further Education and Training (FET)
Twenty professional educationalists will attend the first Level 9 one-year blended learning Post-graduate Certificate in Programme Design and Validation (PDV) for Further Education and Training (FET) workshop in the new School of Education building on February 8th. This workshop, 1 of 5 over a calendar year, is the first step for a qualification that responds to the national need for knowledge and skills in designing programmes at designated learning levels for validation by national awarding bodies such as QQI (Quality Qualifications Ireland) and others.

SAOLTA Launch 30th January 2020
SAOLTA - Empowerment for a better world through Adult and Community Education, is a strategic initiative to enhance development education in the adult and community sector (ACE) in Ireland. SAOLTA, the old Irish world translates into “Worldly”, was launched in the Mansion House Dublin, on Thursday January 30th with a broad attendance from government departments, humanitarian non-governmental organisations (NGOs), adult and community education groups, and invited guests.
