IRC New Foundations Success for Dr Etain Quigley of the Department of Law
The New Foundations project is called - Juvenile Sexual Offending: An EU Prevalence and Criminal Justice Response Study and will be done it in collaboration with the ACJRD (Association for Criminal Justice Research and Development). The project will be recording prevalence rates and criminal justice responses to juvenile sexual offending across the EU. It will bring together key stakeholders and scholars in the area with a view to facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Maynooth University Law Department was delighted when five members of staff were awarded Irish Research Council New Foundations awards, the highest number of awards for any Law School in the country.
Prof Michael Doherty, Head of Department, was 'especially pleased that this amazing achievement coincides with our 10th birthday. We are the youngest Law Department in Ireland, and started our Criminology programme in 2016. To achieve this funding success, in addition to Professor Ferri's European Research Council Consolidator award in late-2019, clearly marks out Maynooth Law as a leading centre for legal and criminological research in Europe '.
