Dr. Sarah Fulham-McQuillan invited to speak at the Obligations Discussion Group, Faculty of Law, University of Oxford

Dr. Sarah Fulham-McQuillan was invited by the convenors of the Obligations Discussion Group, organised by the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford, to speak on her research which redefines the concepts of duty of care and damage in medical negligence. Her paper, delivered on the 24 January 2018, was well-received by attendees which included leading academics in the fields of private law and medical law and ethics.

The group is convened by Professor James Goudkamp, Professor of the Law of Obligations, and Ms. Eleni Katsampouka. It meets a number of times per term with the purpose of facilitating discussion of research in the field of private law with invited speakers from across the common law world. Other speakers this term include Professor Boudewijn Sirks (University of Oxford), Professor Mark Lunney (University of New England), Professor Eric Descheemaeker (Melbourne Law School), Professor Eyal Zamir (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Professor David Rolph (Sydney Law School), and Associate Professor Sandy Steel (University of Oxford). 
 

Dr. Sarah Fulham-McQuillan is an Associated Lecturer in Law at the Department of Law in Maynooth University whose research focuses primarily on the Law of Torts, especially negligence, Medical Law, the Public Law/Private Law Divide, and Law and Elder Abuse.
