Biography

I am a self-directed enthusiastic lecturer with a passionate commitment to student development. My teaching style is one of ensuring that I support all learning styles and help my students to learn in an interesting way to ensure maximum benefit for them. I am passionate about the subject that I teach and have 24 years’ experience in teaching to third level students. My personal research expertise lies in 15th to 21st century German history, historiography and culture, perceptions of Germany in foreign countries, the presentation of the German Heimat and identity in literature and poetry, Business German, and German Migration Studies in an international context, with 123 published articles and 17 books centred on this period/subject area.
