Congratulations to Dr Deborah Hayden, who has been awarded a grant of €12,700 from Enterprise Ireland to further develop her research on medieval Irish medical manuscripts. Dr Hayden, who is Lecturer in Early Irish and currently also holds an IRC Laureate Award, is the Principal Investigator of the Medieval Irish Medicine in its North-Western European Context project. This project, which began last year, is beginning to revolutionise our understanding of the many unedited and untranslated medical manuscripts surviving from medieval Ireland and the grant from Enterprise Ireland will enable Dr Hayden to develop a new project beyond the duration of the current IRC award.
