Business – Marketing

Why study Business – Marketing

Do you wonder how firms decide what products and services to offer to customers? How they persuade customers to purchase their products or services in the face of competition? How organisations decide what types of marketing actions to undertake in the face of limited budgets and consumer attention spans?

In successful organisations this does not occur by chance, but rather through careful analysis of market needs, management of the marketing function, understanding of the art and science of communications and understanding the capabilities of the business and how it connects these to customers’ needs, wants and desires. Marketing is an applied science, and so a feature of this subject is exploring current marketing problems and crafting possible solutions for real companies to these marketing and business problems.
