Biography

Zhouxiang Lu BEd, MEd, PhD joined Maynooth University in 2011. His main research interests are Chinese history, nationalism, national identity, Chinese martial arts and China’s sport policy and practice, and he has published extensively in these areas. He is academic editor of Cogent Social Sciences and Asian Journal of Sport History & Culture. His recent publications include: Chinese National Identity in the Age of Globalisation (2020), A History of Shaolin: Buddhism, Kung Fu and Identity (2019) and Politics and Identity in Chinese Martial Arts (2018).
