About

Rebecca Chiyoko King-O'Riain is a senior lecturer in the department of Sociology with research interests in: globalization, emotions and technology; racial/ethnic beauty pageants (Pure Beauty - University of Minnesota Press); critical race theory; qualitative methods; interracial marriage and multiracial people (Global Mixed Race - New York University Press). Her current research explores the ‘Globalization of Love’ with transnational, mixed couples and their children looking at uses of digital technology to create and maintain global emotional networks.
