About this Event

What sense should today’s Irish literary critics make of the remarkable achievements of modern Irish writers in the midst of early twentieth-century national and international crises? What do the works of these writers mean for Ireland now? What is the place of “Irish modernism” in contemporary literary studies in Ireland and internationally? What are the institutional and intellectual prospects of the field?

The panel will include Emer Nolan (MU, chair); Joe Cleary (Yale); Enda Duffy (UC Santa Barbara); Maud Ellmann (Chicago); Emilie Morin (York)

A Zoom link for the event will be sent the day before the panel.
