**SMI/ICTM Postgraduate Conference registration now open**

As part of the collaboration between the Society for Musicology in Ireland and the Irish National Committee of the International Council for Traditional Music, we are pleased to announce that a joint annual postgraduate conference will take place in the Music Department at Maynooth University on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th of January 2018.
 
The keynote address will be delivered by Amanda Bayley, Professor of Music at Bath Spa University. She will deliver a keynote address entitled Creative and Interactive Processes in Cross-cultural Collaborations, in keeping with the collaborative and cross-disciplinary nature of this conference.  
 
In addition to postgraduate presentations across a broad range of music-related research areas, there will be an SMI Careers Forum entitled Post-PhD: Career Opportunities In and Beyond the Academy. A special information session on digital research and resources for students will also take place on Friday 19 January, presented by the Irish Traditional Music Archive.
