Dr. Ollie Bartlett and colleagues awarded Bioethics prize by Portuguese Ministry of Health

A paper written by Francisco Goiana-da-Silva, João Guedes Marecos and Oliver Bartlett, entitled “Health Misinformation: A Bioethical Approach”, has been awarded the João Lobo Antunes Memorial Prize in Biothics by the Portuguese Ministry of Health.

Professor Doctor João Lobo Antunes (pictured) was a prominent figure in the field of health ​​ethics, life sciences and biology research. This Prize, created by the Portuguese Ministry of Health in his memory, is awarded to a study or piece of research work that contributes significantly to advancing the discipline of bioethics.

The paper written by Dr Bartlett and colleagues discusses the dissemination of fake health news as a public health threat and the bioethical implications of its regulation.
