School of Law and Criminology Staff V Students in Charity Football match

Friday, April 12, 2024 - 11:00

On Tuesday 9th April, staff and postgraduate students from the School of Law and Criminology played a charity football match.

This was organised by PhD Representatives Maria Cleary and Bana Abu Zuluf in order to raise funds for The Society of St Vincent de Paul. The match was played between staff and postgraduate students on Maynooth University’s astro pitch. We were lucky to get a very sunny day and we had twelves players overall. While it was a very close match, the final score was 5-4, with the staff team taking the trophy! We would like to say thank you to the administration staff for their assistance with organising the match and of course, our players: Ian Marder, Conor Crummey, Hubert Smekal, Aaron Harte-Hughes, Aaron Murphy, Lea Urzel, Obele Akinniranye, and Orlaith Fagan.

We would also like to say thank you to the additional four students who joined in on the fun last minute! We are delighted that €570 has been raised for St Vincent de Paul so far and thank you to everyone who has donated so far.
