King's Inns Information Event held in Maynooth

Wednesday, February 28, 2024 - 09:30

Last week, Dr Elaine Burroughs, External Relations Manager at the School of Law and Criminology, had the distinct pleasure of hosting Ms. Marcella Higgins, the Registrar of The Honourable Society of King's Inns. The event proved to be an enriching experience for our students as Marcella provided a highly insightful presentation on the practical aspects of the entrance process to the King's Inns programme, along with essential information about studying at this esteemed institution.

Adding to the depth of knowledge, Mr. Cillian McGovern, a junior barrister, joined Marcella in offering invaluable advice to our students. His guidance covered not only the nuances of studying at King's Inns but also shed light on the process of becoming a member of the Bar of Ireland and shared insights into the rewarding career path of being a barrister.

Following the informative talks, an engaging question-and-answer session took place, providing students with a platform to delve deeper into their queries. The event concluded with a unique opportunity for one-to-one interactions with both Marcella and Cillian. We extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Higgins and Mr. McGovern for generously giving their time to offer our students a comprehensive understanding of the journey towards becoming a barrister. The King’s inns is holding an in–person Open Day on Saturday, 9 March 2024.
