The Criminal Law Forum, coordinated by Maynooth University Department of Law, held its fourth meeting in the Honorable Society of King's Inns on Saturday, 16th November. The Forum aims to provide a space for the cross-fertilisation of knowledge and ideas between practitioners and academics working in the broad criminal justice area. At the forum, the Hon. Ms. Justice Una Ni Raifeartaigh and Prof. Mary Rogan, TCD spoke on "Policy-making in a vacuum: the need for proper data to be gathered in the criminal justice system" which was followed by a lively discussion.

The Forum was established by Una ni Raifeartaigh, now a judge of the Irish Court of Appeal, and Niamh Maguire, Senior Lecturer, Waterford Institute of Technology.

The Department of Law in Maynooth was very pleased to be invited by Judge ni Raifeartaigh to coordinate the Forum into the future, particularly given that the Judge is one of our Adjunct Professors of Law here in Maynooth.
