Launch of The Irish Association for Asian Studies (IAAS)

The Irish Association for Asian Studies (IAAS) was formed on May 21st at a special workshop at the IMI in Dublin, organised by Dr Kevin Cawley (Director of the Irish Institute of Korean Studies) from the School of Asian Studies, UCC. The Association has been established to advance education through the critical and analytical study of Asia and Asia-related topics by providing a forum for scholarly activity, and to foster a variety of academic activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops and publications. The event was attended by scholars from several Irish institutions, both in the Republic of Ireland and N. Ireland.
