Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - 00:00

The shortlists for each of the 25 categories in The Undergraduate Awards have been released.  Maynooth University was successful in the shortlist round, with five students being named across four of the categories.
The top 10% of submissions have been named as highly commended in each category, selected from almost 5,000 submissions from over 200 colleges and universities internationally.

The Undergraduate Awards is the only international pan-discipline academic awards programme in the world, in operation in Ireland since 2008 and operating globally since 2011.
It aims to recognize the best students in the world and to connect them to one another so as to encourage inter-disciplinary co-operation that also transcends borders.

Over the coming fortnight judges will deliberate over the shortlists to identify the winners in each category. Those winners will be named as the top student internationally in their respective field and secure for themselves attendance at The UA Global Summit, which is taking place across Dublin, Ireland from November 19th-21st. They will also have a chance to be published in the 2014 Undergraduate Journal.

The winners will be announced on 22nd September 2014.  The 2015 programme is now open for registrations which is available to penultimate and final year students as well as 2014 graduates.
