Established in honour of John Hume, an alumnus of Maynooth University, and in recognition of his important contribution to Ireland, the John and Pat Hume Doctoral Awards are offered across all disciplines at in the Faculty, offering four years of PhD funding and up to €20,500 per annum plus fees. Each year the Faculty offers up to eight John and Pat Hume Scholarships, of varying values, for doctoral research students entering the Faculty.
