Biography

Zhouxiang Lu BEd, MEd, PhD joined Maynooth University in 2011. His research interests are nationalism, national identity and the history of sport, and he has published extensively in these areas. His recent publications include: Chinese National Identity in the Age of Globalisation (2020), A History of Shaolin: Buddhism, Kung Fu and Identity (2019), Politics and Identity in Chinese Martial Arts (2018) and Sport and Nationalism in China (2014). He is Academic Editor of Asian Journal of Sport History & Culture, Editor of Cogent Social Sciences, and Section Editor of The Routledge Research Encyclopedia of Chinese Studies.
