Among the wide variety of events on campus, is a performance by the multiple award-winning Irish folk duo, Ye Vagabonds (an exclusive reception for alumni will take place beforehand), Irish National Opera in Concert with soprano Anna Devin, mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty,  bass-baritone Gianluca Margheri, and pianist Finghin Collins.  In The Literary Lounge, we'll have book readings by Nicole Flattery (author of Nothing Special) and Deepti Kapoor (author of Age of Vice) plus poetry readings with Seán Hewitt and Lauren Lawler. For the first time, the festival will partner with Maynooth Film For All and on the opening night, show a screening of Aftersun, the internationally acclaimed Paul Mescal movie.

Courtesy of Irish National Opera, discover something Out of the Ordinary, a virtual reality community opera experience on Saturday, 6 May. There's a cornucopia of wonderful Irish language events also taking place on Saturday. An Fhéile Bheag, which includes Ceardlann Amharclannaíochta/Irish-language Theatre Workshop, a sean-nós singing walk in the lovely campus grounds and Picnic Bheag Ealaíonta, an outdoor Irish-language arts picnic. As we head towards the evening, there's also an Irish-language Interdisciplinary Arts Event in honour of the famous Lament for Art O’Leary which was composed 250 years ago this year and lastly, Tráthnóinín Déanach, a special evening of Irish-language hip hop, electronic music, and rave with the acclaimed Súil Amháin and Tuath ensemble which will close the festival.

Arts and Minds is Maynooth University’s campus celebration of the best in the Irish and international arts and culture, welcoming the wider community, alumni, students, and staff to join us for live and in-person arts events.
