The Alumni Reunion 2024

Friday, May 17, 2024 - 17:15

The Maynooth University Alumni Reunion which took place on Saturday, 11th May 2024, was a wonderful celebration, bringing alumni from across the decades and their guests together to mark milestone anniversaries on a sun-filled South Campus. Guests enjoyed refreshments and musical accompaniment from Spanish guitarist Juan Jose in Renehan Hall, before sitting down to a delightful 3-course meal in Pugin Hall as they reconnected with classmates and MU staff.

Rebecca Doolin Vice President of External Relations welcomed alumni and guests and Professor Eeva Leinonen President of Maynooth University, spoke about the achievements of the University and alumni over the past year.

Among the attendees, it was wonderful to see many Maynooth University staff, current and retired, reconnecting with alumni and a particularly heartwarming moment was the presence of the Geography graduating Class of 1974, celebrating their 50th anniversary.
This year’s reunion also paid tribute to the legacy of the Maynooth Access Programme, celebrating its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Dr Rose Ryan, Director of Access, spoke about the impact of the programme, and expressed her gratitude to alumni, students and staff for the support. MAP alum Alpha Ike (2021 BSc) closed out the speeches with a few words about how the Maynooth Access Programme gave him the confidence to pursue his dreams.

The 2024 Alumni Reunion was a truly memorable occasion, filled with fond memories and new connections.
