The ALL Institute is pleased to share that Dr. Emma Smith, Postdoctoral Researcher, has been awarded a highly prestigious Marie Sklowdowska Curie Actions Individual Fellowship (approximately EUR185 000 over 2 years) from the European Commission Horizon 2020 program. Dr. Smith will receive funding to work with Prof. Mac MacLachlan on a project called ARISE, which aims to develop a framework for resilient and inclusive systems to enable participation in society through the use of assistive technologies. In the course of her fellowship, Dr. Smith also will be working closely with the European Disability Forum.

New research by the Maynooth University Centre for Mental Health and Community Research has recommended the development of a ‘whole of family’ approach within mental health services, including automatic consideration of children when a parent has a mental health illness.
