Physics graduates have a wide range of career opportunities open to them in, for example, medical physics, applied physics, meteorology, software engineering, astrophysics and space science, microelectronics, telecommunication engineering, teaching and lecturing. Our graduates have found employment in high-tech companies in Ireland and abroad.
Students who obtain a good honours degree are eligible to undertake research for an M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree under the supervision of one of the members of academic staff, who run active research programmes in a variety of research areas in experimental physics, theoretical physsics and astrophysics.
See the profiles below for details on graduates from our courses and the careers physics led them to. For more information on careers in physics and astronomy, visit the Careers pages of the Institute of Physics in Ireland, on which you can find more information on careers in physics.
