The Politics of Climate Change in the United States and Europe The Maynooth Centre for European and Eurasian Studies is delighted to host the next research seminar of the spring semester. Dr. Hugh Atkinson, Senior Lecturer in Political Science, London South Bank University will speak on the main themes of his new book, The Politics of Climate Change under President Obama (Routledge, 2017). Professor Peadar Kirby (Emeritus Professor of international Politics and Public Policy, University of Limerick) will respond to Dr. Atkinson and the discussion will focus on how climate change is being tackled (or not) on both sides of the Atlantic. All Welcome.

The Liquidation of the Church
The Department of Sociology Maynooth and the Irish Theological Quarterly will host a talk by Dr. Kees de Groot, Assistant Professor, School of Catholic Theology, Tilburg University, Netherlands. Dr. Kees, whose book, 'The Liquidation of the Church' was published by Routledge in 2017, will present on religion in late modernity asking provocative questions for theological and sociological debate.
