On-line archive of spoken Irish from the 1920s & 30s launched
Academics from Maynooth University have been working with The Royal Irish Academy, to put a unique record of the sounds of Irish as it was spoken throughout Ireland in the 1920s and ’30s online.

IRISH RESEARCH TEAM SHINES LIGHT ON MALE INFERTILITY
A research team led by Professor Kay Ohlendieck from Maynooth University ’s Department of Biology has determined the molecular mechanisms of a particular form of sperm abnormalities called globozoospermia and found that the abnormal morphology of sperm cells plays a crucial role in infertility.

Maynooth University congratulates Peter Higgs and François Englert on Nobel Prize in Physics
Maynooth University today congratulated Peter Higgs and François Englert on their Nobel Prize in Physics, which was awarded today "for the theoretical discovery of a mechanism that contributes to our understanding of the origin of mass of subatomic particles, and which recently was confirmed through the discovery of the predicted fundamental particle, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN's Large Hadron Collider".
